Beschreibung der Verwaltungskommission von Kohn Oskar,
geb. 01.10.1894 - gefallen 04.05.1915, den Heldentod erlitten in Janowitze Galizien,
Grabstelle Friedhof Baden
There is a very poignant story that goes with Oscar’s death:
Oskar was killed on 3 May, 1915 on the Russian Front in Lemberg.
Six months later, his father Jakob Kohn, brother Karl Kohn, brother-in-law Aaron Weil, and one or two other men from Baden
went to Polish Galicia, exhumed Oskar's body, and brought it home for proper burial.
This was quite a risky undertaking because it was still wartime.
But Jakob Kohn and his wife Esther (Netti) Reisch could not bear to have their son’s body lie so far from home.
Oskar's grave is located in the Baden cemetery in row L2, grave 1058.
Best, Carole
